Sound healing is the oldest form of healing known to man. Sound healing is an ancient practice that uses various sound frequencies to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and improve physical and mental well-being. This therapeutic technique has gained popularity as more people are seeking natural and holistic approaches to healing.
From crystal singing bowls to chimes and drums, sound healing has evolved to offer a wide range of options for those interested in exploring the benefits of this practice. People often have some basic questions about how it works and what benefits it can offer.
01
How does sound healing work?
Sound healing works by using specific sound frequencies to stimulate the body's natural healing mechanisms. When we are exposed to sound, our brain waves entrain to the frequency of the sound, which can promote relaxation, reduce stress and anxiety, and promote physical healing. Different frequencies are believed to have different healing effects, and our sessions will use various instruments such as singing bowls, chimes, bells, drums, tuning forks or rattles to produce these frequencies.

What are the benefits of sound healing?
Sound healing can offer a range of benefits, including stress reduction, improved sleep, pain relief, enhanced creativity and intuition, and greater emotional balance and well-being. It can also be helpful for those experiencing depression, anxiety, or PTSD.
Some of the top issues that people seek to relieve with sound healing include:
-
Stress and anxiety: Sound healing can help to reduce stress and promote relaxation by slowing down brainwaves and promoting a meditative state.
-
Insomnia and sleep disorders: The soothing tones of sound healing can help to promote restful sleep and alleviate insomnia.
-
Pain and inflammation: The vibrations produced by sound healing can help to reduce pain and inflammation in the body.
-

Is sound healing scientifically proven?
While more research can always be done to fully understand the mechanisms of sound healing, there is evidence to support its effectiveness. Studies have shown that sound can have a measurable impact on brain waves, heart rate, and other physiological processes.
There is evidence to suggest that listening to certain types of music can reduce anxiety, lower blood pressure, improve sleep quality, and enhance feelings of comfort and relaxation. This is generally thought to be due to the influence of music and sound on the autonomic nervous system and the release of hormones related to stress and relaxation.

The idea that because the human body is mostly water it can be influenced by sound vibrations is a common claim among proponents of sound therapy. It's rooted in the understanding of basic physics principles: when sound waves travel through a medium — in this case, water — they cause the particles in that medium to vibrate. The thought is that these vibrations can cause shifts at a cellular level, potentially promoting healing and well-being.
Sound therapy can be an effective adjunct to other forms of treatment and is used in many settings from hospitals and mental health clinics to wellness centers and yoga studios. Sound is being utilized all over the world and in many locations to bring peace and healing to all who participate.

Private Sound Healing
Private sound healing sessions are now available and recommended for those who have been through a lot and want a private session to work through their trauma. Crying, moving, screaming and/or just laying still are all a part of a private sound healing session. This is a time and place to let your soul free to release all that has been trapped inside. Releasing of all emotions is supported and recommended to allow your body to move through and past the trauma that was stuck. This is not a counseling session and you will not be required to share anything about your experience, past or present. You are simply encouraged to feel and move through the experience while being fully and completely supported with empathy and love.
